The Mesozoic Era, also known as the age of reptiles began 252 MYA and ended 66 MYA. The climate was much warmer than it is today. There were no ice caps located anywhere in the world. Along with the climate being very warm, it did not take long to shift climates from cold to very warm. Throughout the whole era Pangea's temperature rose 18 degrees Fahrenheit. Some places underwater to too cold to even have life living in them. The super continent Pangea was centered on the Prime meridian stretching from north to south. There were lots of islands with all the continents connected. Many reptiles evolved into what we know today as dinosaurs. Dinosaurs and other large reptiles started ruling the world. Plants were taken down by herbivore dinosaurs. At the end of the Mesozoic Era there was a large mass extinction that wiped out all dinosaurs and 80% of marine life and that is how Mesozoic changed to Cenozoic.
